The Elephant Left The Room
The Elephant Left the Room can be performed either as a full two-act production or as shortened thirty minute version.
When spirited ninety-year-old Gilly begins to forget, long-held fears and pride start to fall away - and Clare, her daughter, releases years of resentment. Together, they discover unexpected joy, laughter, and a bond deeper than either could have imagined.
But when Gilly collapses one night, Clare faces an unbearable choice: call for help and risk the impersonal, overwhelmed care system stepping in - a world of crowded wards, corridor care, and frantic staff - or hold her mother close and let her slip away peacefully.
The Elephant Left the Room is a tender, thought-provoking exploration of love, loss, and the freedom that can be found in forgetting. It asks what it truly means to care for someone else while caring for yourself — and challenges us to consider: what would I want if the roles were reversed?
